Miriam Vale Shire Residents are in for a special treat this Australia Day thanks to the Woolworths sponsored Australia Day Ambassador Program.
Guests of the Miriam Vale Shire Australia Day Breakfast will be invited to “catch the bug” as they are uplifted and motivated by Guest Speaker Deborah Morandin.
Ms Morandin’s contagious vest for life and infectious enthusiasm will provide a vibrant undercurrent to the Australia Day Message she will present as an Australia Day Ambassador.“I am so excited about the opportunity to be Queensland Ambassador for Miriam Vale Shire.” Said Ms Morandin yesterday “I have heard so much about your beautiful area, I simply can't wait to be there.”
Hailing from Townsville and with an Italian heritage, Ms Morandin still calls Queensland home despite working and traveling extensively both nationally and overseas.
“There is no doubt we live in the lucky country, and Australia Day is the perfect day to celebrate” Ms Morandin said.
“I am looking forward to meeting as many of the locals as I can. Come an enjoy a free breakfast with me as we enjoy some great local entertainment, what a great way to start Australia Day!”
The program for the morning Australia Day Celebrations in the Shire has attracted a lot of interest from residents with numbers of those planning to access the courtesy bus service climbing.Residents from townships around the Shire including Rosedale, Turkey Beach and Agnes Water 1770 will attend the event thanks to the Council initiative to provide transport this year.
Miriam Vale Mayor Tom Jeffery was enthusiastic about the line up for the 2007 event.
“Australia Day in Miriam Vale is going to be a little different this year.” Said Mayor Jeffery.“We have gone all out to bring Shire residents together and give them a morning to remember.In addition to a fun packed program, a free bus service to the licensed event and a delicious complimentary breakfast, we are over the moon to have Deborah Morandin as our Guest Speaker”

Background
Guest Speaker Deborah Morandin
Deborah Morandin founded her own company Squiggly Training in 2003, based on a life-long passion for seeing people achieve their true potential. She is an experienced motivational speaker and goals coach who incorporates her knowledge from a wide range of industry experiences.
Deborah developed a program entitled ‘The Butterfly Experience’ to help women back into the workforce, inspired by her own experience of rehabilitation while recovering from a spinal injury suffered while surfing at Byron Bay in 2003.
Her work has resulted in a wide range of acknowledgements including training awards.
